If you ask Crystal Griffiths what she likes best about her job at Hugger Mugger, she’ll give you the best answer possible: “Yoga is my passion.” Crystal lives and breathes Yoga, at work and beyond.

Crystal is Hugger Mugger’s marketing director and international sales rep. Since 2007, she has represented us at trade shows and conferences, handled web-based product promotions and email blasts, and kept our website up to date. Crystal is a creative artist with an uncanny talent for understanding what the larger yoga community values. At trade shows and conferences, as well as talking with our international communities in places as far flung as Japan and Russia, Crystal has learned a whole lot about what yogis are looking for in terms of practice support. In addition, she’s had the opportunity to educate people about the benefits of practice and how using tools such as blocks, straps, bolsters and blankets can expand yoga’s scope to include people of diverse backgrounds, body types and abilities.

This makes her the perfect person to develop new products, which is another of the many hats Crystal dons when she comes to work each day. Crystal is part of a team of creatives who decide on new colors and come up with product names. In many ways, a whole lot of what our global community has come to love about Hugger Mugger is due to Crystal’s creativity and dedication to Yoga.

Crystal enjoys being the liaison to our international community, because she gets to learn about different cultures. Her favorite part of her job is “trying new products and talking with other yogis. I love the yogi lifestyle,” she says. When I asked her what she enjoys most outside of work, she says simply, ”Yoga.” What style? Any style, except she has recently steered away from Hot and Power styles in favor of quieter practices such as Yin Yoga. She also likes to enjoy Utah’s great outdoors, a Yoga practice unto itself.

Crystal has, at times, contributed to our blog. Her posts speak from her reflective nature, inspiring us to look at our lives and to live from our truth. Check out this post and this one, for a sample of her writing about topics that go beyond just the physical practice of Yoga.

Crystal is just a few months away from finishing her Associate’s Degree in Business from Salt Lake Community College. Next year she will attend the University of Utah to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. Yoga has woven its way into her college classes as well. “I’m taking a public speaking class,” she says. “Even in that class I talk about Yoga. It’s become a way of life for me.” Funny how that happens.

I purchased a yoga bag 2 yrs ago and it is is falling apart – I am a seasonal visitor to Naples Fl (Nov. -end of April) and do yoga 3x a week at our golf club- I leave the yoga “stuff” here as I have another set in Ottawa Canada. The zipper closer has fallen off – the bag is literally falling apart and I only use it 1/2 a year – so I’m thinking you might want to check your suppliers quality before ordering another batch- it’s a gray bag with 2 zipper pouches / mesh pockets on each end and a couple of orange accents near the zippers – cheers Anne

Thank you so much for the feedback. This is not good news. I’m not sure which bag that is, but I will find out.
