It is good!
Like it so far out of the box. For me it was time for a new mat, so I ordered extra cushioning and really enjoy the NON SLIP feature.

Great length
Love the length, I'm 6'2" so finding a mat long enough is a challenge. This one fits the bill. It sticks nicely to our wood floors so no slipping around. Just wish it was a bit thicker.

2003 to now and still in good shape
I bought my mat in 2003 just out of college. I wanted along softer mat than the one that I had in college. After doing a fair amount of research both online and in the studios I attended I came to this mat. I am 6ft and 230 lbs. with the exception of the sweatiest classes this mat has performed well. Both on firm carpet, hardwood floors and rubber gym flooring. It survived two puppies laying on it, although they did leave a mark or two. I have found it easy to wash/rinse inJust the shower and hang dry. just purchased the bamboo towel to go over it for hot yoga. will let you know how it goes.

Wonderful, long-lasting quality after ten years of use!
Purchased my Tapas Ultra mat ten years ago for the extra length and thickness. It continues to perform very well. I teach and have my practice indoors. Easy to clean, dries well overnight, is sticky, does not decompose and break up like the other Eco-friendly mats currently on the market. Am very pleased, and recommend it to my students. Have no qualms whatsoever.

Mat has no endurance.
My last mat lasted at least 12 years and probably could have gone longer. The Tapas Ultra mat started developing holes, or shredding, at six months. I am very disappointed. It is not going to last long.

Happy customer
I have had my indigo color tapas ultra mat for two years and I love it. I do yoga class about two times a week and my mat still looks as good as new. It is still fairly sticky and it has no tears or holes. I love the slight amount of cushioning it gives me. When you step on it or place your hand on it it leaves an impression for 5-10 seconds-which has never affected it's use, just something I was initially surprised about. I have used both the ultra and the regular mats, I prefer the ultra for the cushion and non-slip surface. If my hands are sweating or feel slippery I fold the top of mat under about 4 inches and then use the bump to help keep my hands in place. Overall I would (and have) recommended this mat to my friends.

Do Not Recommend
As I was using the product for the first time, I noticed it did not return to its original shape. This started with the knee imprints after a child's pose to future hand and foot imprints. When I unrolled it three days later for my next yoga session many of the imprints remained. After two sessions, the mat looks like it been to eternity and back! At least it's sticky and doesn't slide. However, I'm ordering a different mat ASAP and am asking to return this one.

not the best value
I had lots of fun with this mat! but there were some things that made it kind of annoying to use. Mostly, when you are in a pose with your knees at the ground, even if you fold the mat over to pad you still sink through its super squishyness until you are basically just on the hard floor. Also I have had my mat for only about six months (of every day use) and it is totally falling apart. The spots where my hands and feet go are especially torn up and i keep finding bits of it everywhere. Also it makes squeaky noises.

Great mat
I bought the Ultra 3 years ago, when I started to practice yoga regularly. I chose it because it stays put, is not slippery, and is nice and soft (I got comments / compliments on that). The one downside is that is seems to shred fairly easily, now that I have progressed to daily practice and vinyasa yoga. I have already "shreded" 2 of them, but I think I will still go for another one since I have not found an alternative that I would like enough.

Too Slippery - Disappointed
I chose this Ultra Mat because I was looking for a bit more cushion than the standard tapas mat offered. The reviews seemed positive and several even stated that it was sticky. I have found it to be too slippery and am very disappointed! It is a bit more cushy and acts like memory foam - leaving an impression and then returning to flat. Honestly I am using this mat underneath my old mat because I need the grip.

Wonderful!
A great overall mat, it has served me so well over the years and although its starting to wear, I will absolutely be buying a new one when the time is right.

I bought this mat years ago and I still love it even though it is a bit worn. Doesn't slip and has an extra bit of cushion.

Great mat!
The Ultra mat is my favorite because it is sticky and I don't slide around when I'm using it. It's not too thin and not too thick. It isn't laboriously heavy. I can always depend on my Ultra mat to keep my hands and feet from sliding around.
