At Hugger Mugger, we love shining a light on the yoga communities that inspire us every day. This month, we’re thrilled to feature Studio Spotlight: Lexington Salt Cave & Wellness - where they offer a healing space for all people to relax, restore, and rejuvenate.
Q: Tell us a little about your studio's journey. How did it all begin?
Lara founded Lexington Salt Cave in 2021, transitioning from a successful but demanding career in sales to follow a deeper calling in holistic wellness. Lara’s journey is rooted in a passion for restorative practices and a commitment to mental, physical, and spiritual health. Lara earned her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2019 and decided to pursue her own wellness business after feeling the transformational power of yoga. Her wellness journey expanded to include certifications in Trauma-Informed Teaching, Yoga Nidra meditation, and Halotherapy (via the Salt Therapy Association). Through Lexington Salt Cave & Wellness, Lara provides a sanctuary for others to relax, restore, and rejuvenate. She likes to consider herself a facilitator, bringing together a team of wellness professionals in a beautifully calming space.

We have an amazing group of practitioners here, consisting of a dedicated community of local regulars of all ages and experience levels. Our yogis are committed to enhancing their wellness with holistic modalities that support the mind, body, and spirit.
Q: Do you have a favorite Hugger Mugger product you use in your classes?
We love the size and support of the Hugger Mugger bolsters! We offer them for sale in our reception space and customers love the color options. They last for years and are top quality!
Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d share with someone who’s new to yoga?
Yoga isn't about being flexible or physically fit. I believe Yoga is the tool by which we become more flexible and fit in both mind and body. Yoga is the key to breath and body awareness, mindfulness, and longevity. Yoga can be practiced by anyone, no matter their experience or condition. Find a class that allows you to move and breathe in a manner that supports your individual needs. It is truly a life changing practice!
Q: What’s next for your studio?
We are excited to be hosting two separate teacher trainings here this Fall: The Kentucky Yoga Collective offers a 200-hour YTT that rotates between 3 studios, including ours, beginning in August. Attuned Wisdom School of Yoga begins in September and has options for a 200, 300, and 500-hour YTT.
